Polar becomes pulse as bp rebrands

Energy giant bp is combining its two electric vehicle charging companies to form a single brand - bp pulse. The move will see the existing bp Chargemaster and Polar names rebranded to make recharging even simpler for existing and new customers.

bp acquired both brands two years ago and invested significantly in expanding its UK public charging network. As a result, the combined bp pulse will be the UK’s largest operator of electric car recharging points.

A new website is now live for both new and existing EV customers, with the content of the bp Chargemaster and Polar websites now available at bppulse.co.uk. The new site includes the live network map featuring an option to start and stop charges via a smartphone browser, without registering or using any apps.

The previous Polar Plus and Polar Instant smartphone apps were recently consolidated into a single bp Chargemaster app, which has also been rebranded to bp pulse. The signage and branding on public charge points across the country will be gradually replaced with new bp pulse branding.
