Audi’s massive push into electric cars continues with this new ‘sportback’ version of the Q4 e-tron. Although labelled as a concept car, the looks are said to be “90% close” to the final production version which will go on sale in 2021.

The model will be sold alongside another Q4 e-tron, which has a more conventional SUV body style with a less swoopy rear end style. Both are aimed squarely at Tesla’s Model Y, which is due to arrive in the UK at around the same time.

The Q4 e-trons will be the first Audis to share major components such as the motors and suspension design with the new Volkswagen ID.3. The Audi will be available with an 82kWh battery and a choice of either a single motor giving a range of around 311miles or a four-wheel-drive model with two motors. This top version will have an impressive delivers 302bhp but the range is cut to around 280 miles on a charge.

Audi claims it will offer more than 20 models with all-electric drive by 2025, making up about 40 percent of its sales.
